THE ALKA is held only in Sinj and only on the track called the Alkars’ Racecourse, which is on the old road Sinj – Split, at the location of Big Bridge (across the Gorućica), i. e. from the Alkar’s Monument to the old fountain Petrovac, as it was chosen at the time of Alka’s foundation.
The length of the racecourse, the track where the alkar starts the race and finishes it, is about 300 meters. The width of the racecourse is at least 5 meters. On both sides of the racecourse is a solid fence around 1 m high, and behind the fence are the stands (palke) for spectators.
